The Teacher's College at Columbia University was interested in rethinking the various ways they deliver curriculum and teaching certificate programs. Under the umbrella initiative of "student experience," I was hired to help faculty and administration learn more about their student population and design new ways of meeting their needs. Many programs at the college serve vastly different student populations, and the student experience initiative aims to better address the differences between groups.
I worked with individual faculty and administrators to plan research projects, establishing a knowledge base on the unique needs of various student groups and how to turn that insight into product and service offerings.
I facilitated workshops on topics including introductory design thinking and human-centered design practices, articulating values, brand communication, and others.
The college is currently mapping out a roadmap of potential changes to existing programs and new delivery systems. I continue to work with individuals and groups within the college.
