The Design Gym
I work with The Design Gym on their public education and client engagements. As an organization, they seek to help companies build design skills in house, and offer a range of workshops and other offerings to achieve that goal. I have worked with them on clients such as Capital One, Kiehl's, and Marriott Hotels, as well as teaching public classes.
Kiehl's: We worked with Kiehl's skincare to design a field reference guide for employees doing observational research. Kiehl's wanted to encourage their corporate employees to spend one day per month in the field at Kiehl's stores, competitor stores, or in analogous experiences to stay in tune with the day-to-day customer context and to stay inspired. I was responsible for writing a quick reference guide on observational research that employees can carry in their back pocket.
Marriott Hotels: Marriott approached The Design Gym to help with a week long gathering of their senior leadership from across the world. One day of the week was dedicated to design training. I was one of several facilitators brought in to lead small breakout sessions focused on learning design methods through a practice project related to redesigning a component of the hotel guest experience.
Capital One: In addition to my own work with Capital One, I have worked with The Design Gym to deliver workshops to various teams throughout the organization.
We continue to keep in touch with past clients and help them adopt new design capabilities.
